Repot. Day 10?! Wait What?

Repot. Day 10?! Wait What?

This is one of those posts that stuck with me  the memory of that night at High Park. It never once occurred to me when I was writing these challenge posts that I was creating a storybook of my life.

Good morning Challengers, it is day 10 of our 30 day challenge! How have you done so far? I have not found being outdoors everyday much of a challenge yet because the weather has not really been discouraging. In fact yesterday was so nice that I went out twice even though I am battling a cold.

I will admit to you Challengers, I was born in the 1960's and last night at High Park was one of the most beautiful evenings I have ever seen. One of my team mates said it looked like we were living in a snow globe, and it really did feel like that.

Playing shinny when it snows this much is not my favourite but we did have some good laughs as the puck stalled in the snow half way to it's destination, or was buried in the snow, and nobody knew where it was. I'm feeling so lucky to have an activity that has brought an awesome group of friends into my life, all of us sharing a love of the outdoors, and I'm also grateful that we live in this awesome city where there are outdoor rinks (more than any other city in the world by the way) in every neighbourhood.

Even if you aren't a skater, or don't own a pair of skates, I encourage you to get out at least once this season, there's only four more weeks before the rinks are done for the season, and lots of rinks rent skates.

The photo challenge for today Challengers, brought to us by Robyn, take a picture of a loved one.

Until tomorrow, have an outdoorsy day.

Anna

I would like to talk about something I witnessed in town over the last several weeks. As I mentioned previously, we had a Polar Vortex. It was too cold to walk to the grocery store, let alone just sit outside all day. Which is what a member of this town had been doing for months.

My Winter Walks
My Winter Walks

I am just back from a walk along the country road where I live, a road bordered by fields and stands of trees. My intention was to get some exercise, which meant covering some distance at a reasonable pace. My intention is important, as it affects many other choices: type of shoes, clothing, walking poles, water, binoculars, camera etc.

Good For You Momma
Good For You Momma

After stopping for the dogs to poop and stopping to change Jett’s diaper (twice) we were off!! We walked through a sunny meadow, climbed up the frozen cascades and returned via a side trail that skirted the riverbank. Bliss.
