Day 26: It seems to be working

Day 26: It seems to be working

Good morning Challengers, Day 26!!
Well, my post from yesterday really seemed to cause a bit of a stir. I heard from a few different people that they had been feeling 'flat' as well. My friend Ruth suggested to crank the '80's music loud, and dance your troubles away, and she's a pretty happy person, so I imagine her advice works.
Feeling not as energetic as I usually am, I wondered if I was experiencing some February blahs, (the ones I used to call my sister complaining about every year) and so I went and dug back through the Outdoors Everyday archives to see if this had happened before.
Well, it seems as if the challenge has effectively staved off this end of winter curse. I had to go back to 2017 to find evidence of winter blues, and it was a post on February 24, 2017 labelled SAD. In that post I said, while I had been out everyday, I hadn't spent a lot of time outdoors, and committed to spending two hours out side that day. The next day I reported feeling amazing and figured a good dose of fresh air and sunshine had fixed me.
All that said, I don't think you can ever go wrong spending a couple hours outdoors getting some sunshine and fresh air. Last night I was out for two hours playing shinny, getting the fresh air, but sadly no sunshine. I'll keep you posted if that was enough to restore me, if not, I'll be dedicating myself to some suntime.

Until tomorrow, have an outdoorsy day.

Today's photo prompt is inspired by Bobby finding an old SD card, and finding some old pictures on it. It seems to be an old picture kind of day, because Raynbow posted a picture of herself from likely twenty years ago! The prompt-something over 20 years old.

I would like to talk about something I witnessed in town over the last several weeks. As I mentioned previously, we had a Polar Vortex. It was too cold to walk to the grocery store, let alone just sit outside all day. Which is what a member of this town had been doing for months.

My Winter Walks
My Winter Walks

I am just back from a walk along the country road where I live, a road bordered by fields and stands of trees. My intention was to get some exercise, which meant covering some distance at a reasonable pace. My intention is important, as it affects many other choices: type of shoes, clothing, walking poles, water, binoculars, camera etc.

Good For You Momma
Good For You Momma

After stopping for the dogs to poop and stopping to change Jett’s diaper (twice) we were off!! We walked through a sunny meadow, climbed up the frozen cascades and returned via a side trail that skirted the riverbank. Bliss.
