Day 25: I'm hoping for a fun outdoorsy day

Day 25: I'm hoping for a fun outdoorsy day

Today is our first day in Dundas of the second leg of our trip. We are here until Friday, and I'm hoping to get some good outdoorsy activities in. There's some great hiking to be done, as well as I've been telling Bobby about all the creek beds I used to play in as a child. Maybe we'll revisit some of my old play spots. Dundas is such a beautiful old town that even just walking around the neighbourhoods is fun. I've noticed some house are posting signs that say 'this house was here in 1867.' I'll find out more what that's about (probably from my moms) and let you all know.

Robyn has joined us, and I know she's looking forward to spending some of her visit here hiking too. She also really likes the Dundas thrift stores, and a record store. I like the vegan restaurants and a great health food and bulk store.

I think our last five days are gonna be great. Stay tuned.

Until tomorrow

Have an outdoorsy day.

Today's photo prompt: water-creek, lake, melted snow, surprise us.

I would like to talk about something I witnessed in town over the last several weeks. As I mentioned previously, we had a Polar Vortex. It was too cold to walk to the grocery store, let alone just sit outside all day. Which is what a member of this town had been doing for months.

My intention was to get some exercise, which meant covering some distance at a reasonable pace. My intention is important, as it affects many other choices: type of shoes, clothing, walking poles, water, binoculars, camera etc.

Good For You Momma
Good For You Momma

After stopping for the dogs to poop and stopping to change Jett’s diaper (twice) we were off!! We walked through a sunny meadow, climbed up the frozen cascades and returned via a side trail that skirted the riverbank. Bliss.
