Day 6-Turn Waiting Time into Outdoors Time

Day 6-Turn Waiting Time into Outdoors Time

6 Days. Wow. Have you gone outdoors everyday for 6 days? How are you feeling? I hope you are feeling proud of yourself. Sunday night one of my team mates at hockey told me she was inspired to come to hockey on Sunday evenings because it was outdoors. Certainlyit was a very beautiful night to play outdoor hockey. I feel so lucky to live in Toronto, with free outdoor rinks in every neighbourhood.

Yesterday I had a plan to go skate on the outdoor trail at the bottom of Kipling, but Bobby informed me he hated skating, and wanted to go to The Monkey Vault indoor parkour park...so that's what we did. I traded outdoor for active and counted it a parenting win. I still needed to get outdoors though, so what I did was, I went for a walk while waiting for Thom's hockey to start. Thom has to be at hockey 1 hour before his game time. Often one of the moms will join me for a walk to fill in the time.

Is there a hole in your day where you are waiting on something? A time that you could fill in with an outdoor walk? Find a friend, it makes it much more fun.

Today's photo challenge-look at this beautiful picture I captured at High Park Sunday night. I challenge you to take a beautiful picture-it's winter-there is beauty everywhere...let's see it.

Until tomorrow

Have an outdoorsy day

Day 27: outdoors as a sensory experience.

I am aware of what my body needs - active, upright, arms swinging motion. I notice there is a tone to my walk - purposeful, present, confident.  I notice the openness around me, the cleared sidewalks and roads, the clouds are softening, lightening up, revealing a soft blue sky.
