I had a plan today to have a nice blog post about taking my mom up to my sister's in Norfolk county. Getting some good shots of some naturey stuff going on there, maybe taking a walk with my sis, or some friends I have there. Sadly, that is not how things turned out.

Yesterday reminded me that I don't ALWAYS have to be plugged in, and if I'm listening carefully, there's lots of things to hear. Still not sure if I prefer the sounds of birds and a creek to Bon Jovi, but it's OK to take a little break.
And while I would have loved the company of one of my brothers, or my boyfriend, sometimes doing things by yourself is very nice and relaxing.

Every year during the challenge I have a picture of a tree, often I have a picture of this tree. It's so big, I'm not sure the picture does it justice. It's like an old friend. You can see how the lowest branches are perfect for climbing. I'm sure my siblings and I all climbed it in our childhoods playing here in this park.

Next thing you know it's 6:00 pm, you haven't been out all day, your kids are killing each other, and the only reason you don't break it up is because you don't want them turning on you. To all this I say NO!
I will go outside.
I will brave the cold.
And I will make the children come with me, because I know what's best for them, (and to quote my friend Nora, "Nobody wants to suffer alone")
