Yesterday was my dream weather day. Not too cold, tons of snow, didn't have to drive anywhere further than Bloor and Brock. And lastly several times I look out my front window to near blizzard conditions.

this is Canada, and if you live here you are going to be living part of (and sometimes much of) your life in a cold snowy climate. Then I thought how outdoor sports during the winter are a sort of social currency. And how skating even if you don't play hockey is a way for kids (and grown ups) to be together doing something.

Lastly, another great thing about snow day is hockey is cancelled, and people get sent home from work early, so the whole family is home for a rare and fun evening.
